Max's Beach Day 2011

July 8th 2000, is a day I will never forget. It was the day I delivered my first baby. It was the day we were given a gift of pure goodness, and decided to call him Max. Max loved to celebrate his birthday. Not for the presents, although I'm sure he didn't mind them :), but for the chance to be together with his friends and family. For his 10th birthday, he was planning a "Minute to Win It" birthday party. He had planned the games and written the guest list and supplies needed on some paper. He had even practiced with Abby and was going to let her be the official announcer for the games. As we all know, Max past away a few days short of his 10th birthday and his party plans never went further than that piece of paper. For this year's annual Max's Beach Day, our families threw him a "Minute to Win It" birthday party. It was another wish of Max's that has now been fulfilled and it meant so much to Ryan and me. It was the perfect way to honor and celebrate our sweet Max. We can't say thank you enough to our family and friends for being there for us.

Before the party, our  family visited "Max's Place" and remembered him.

All of the kids wrote messages and sent them to Max.

Happy Birthday my little bud, we all miss you and we will never forget you.

I found my camera, but not until after this day. Click here and here for some great pics of Max's Beach Day

Drum Roll Please . . .

My sweet, sweet, Dr. did one of the longest ultrasounds I have ever had. He was trying so hard to see what sex the babies were. While I was watching in awe the amazing lives that are growing inside of me roll around and move their arms and legs, one of the babies opened up for a very brief moment and showed us that He is a BOY!! The other baby was a bit more private and we weren't able to see a thing. Obviously we are thrilled and excited to know we will be having a boy and for the other baby . . . I love the anticipation and excitement it has left us with.

Baby Update

We were happy with three kids. We felt good with our family of five. But life has unexpected turns and our last turn left us heartbroken. Our family will always include Max. We could never even try to replace him and would never want to. We made a decision that was led with prayer and a lot of thought and discussion. Our journey took us down a very bumpy road and we ended up in a fertility office called La Jolla IVF. Dr. Smotrich and his staff were amazing and now I am pregnant with not only one but two babies! It was a lot more complicated but I wont go into too many details. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and out of my first trimester and feeling a lot better. Our lives have been turned completely around. If someone were to have told me 13 months ago that I would lose a son, move to a new town, live on a ranch, and have twins; I would not have believed them. But it's all true. Ryan and I were talking the other day and he told me . . . "one thing you can count on in life is that it's always changing." The part that I like about it all is that we always have the chance to make it better. This is us making it better.

I see my OB tomorrow, maybe we will see what we're having!?!

4th of July

What better way to spend the patriotic American holiday than with your family and friends in an all American barn. All of my family on both sides were going to be in town to celebrate Max's birthday with us, so they came a few days earlier to explore the ranch and have an awesome party in the barn. It was exactly that. With Randy's planning, every ones help and catering from "GrillaBoyz", It was pretty amazing.

I still haven't found my camera since the move, so I borrowed these pics from my cute sister-in-law.
Thanks Megan!!
